Silver achieved - ISA National Indoor Ski Championships 2017

Silver Position Awarded

Just short of 200 Junior skiers competed in the ISA National Indoor Championships on Monday 24th April at The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead.  The Copthill ski team included Henry Randall, Sammy Harriss, Libby Bird and Emily Anderson.  The team departed at 6am for an early 8.15am start at the ski slope.  With their racing bibs on, they confidently took on the opposition on an incredibly tight and somewhat icy course.

4 Medal winners with their medals, chocolate and personal invitations to ski training camp.

All four skiers made their way onto the slope and put in some quality skiing practise in preparation for their races.  They assessed the race course and carved some good turns in preparation for the slalom.

They started each race through the starting gate, picking up as much speed as they could on the demanding slalom course.  They skied with style and should all feel incredibly proud of their performances, all four skiers achieving excellent times and enough points to secure a 2nd position overall in the mixed team event.  They were delighted to receive their silver medals as well as a chunky bar of chocolate and a personal invitation to the medal winners camp in Tignes later in the year.

Well done Henry, Sammy, Libby and Emily.  A fantastic result.

Mrs Harriss
