U11 A Cricket v Wisbech GS - Wed 25th April 2018
Copthill U11 A team played their first match of the season against Wisbech GS on Wednesday who they haven't played for many years.
Wisbech are usually a strong outfit and well organised. However Copthill possessed some good cricket talent within their squad so felt very confident of getting a good result against them.
Copthill won the toss and captain for match, Ruben Baker, elected to put Wisbech into bat. Wisbech scored a total of 60 runs off 20 overs losing 6 wickets, therefore setting Copthill a score of 61 to win.
William Baker and Ruben Baker opened the batting and scored 61 within 6.5 overs!! Ruben scoring 38 and William 16, the rest were extras.
This was an outstanding performance for the first match of the season where the boys played the traditional game of cricket.
Man of the match was Ruben Baker for his good captaincy and batting and Edmund Kavati for his consistent bowling.
Well done to all the boys who took part in the game.
