Year 5&6 Rugby House Matches 2018-19

The Year 5&6 boys took part in the rugby house matches on Wednesday 5th December 2018 in what was a fantastic afternoon of rugby.

The weather might have been horrendous, however this most certainly did not dampen the spirits of the boys who participated with great enthusiasm and motivation.

Burghley went into the competition as favourites and scored with the last play in their opening 2 matches to record a win and a draw respectively. Elsewhere Lindsey, who started the afternoon with just 6 players, recorded 2 wins from their opening 2 matches to set up a mouthwatering final match against Burghley. All Lindsey needed was a draw to take the crown, however they went one better than that beating Burghley by 2 try's to 0.

I would like to thank the referees Mr Willson & Mr Thomas for their continued enthusiasm, consistent refereeing and motivation of the teams playing on their respective pitches. The parents for turning out to support all the boys in the horrible weather and lastly all the boys for participating well throughout the afternoon, keeping spirits high, win, lose or draw and remembering the ethos of the afternoon.

Well done to all the boys.

Mr Smith
