Copthill U10 ‘A’ Rugby Team v Brook
Priory U10 ‘A’
On a dull
afternoon at Brook Priory on a pitch the size of a postage stamp, the U10 team
performed magnificently. Their attitude
was excellent and they accepted every decision given by the referee. Henry S-P and Ted Pennell were strong in both
tackling and their runs through the midfield.
Edmund Kavati showed some strong running, scoring two tries and Ted
Pennell also touched down.
In a match
that saw Copthill penalised time and time again and unable to stretch the
opposition on such a small pitch, it was a tight affair. At the end of the full fifteen minutes of the
second half, we were ahead 3-2, but had to endure another ten minutes of
pressure before the final whistle. The
whole team played well, but man of the match was Reuben Isaac who made several
telling and high impact runs as well as tracking the ball carrier from every
restart to either put him under pressure or tackle him to smother their move.
On another
day, on another pitch with the clearly defined rules of Age Grade Rugby, we
would have beaten Brook convincingly.
