Year 3 Hockey Festival

Well done to the Year 3 boys and girls who participated in the Hockey Festival today on Copthill's Saxon Pitch as the 6 teams battled to be the winners of the round robin tournament.

The children were divided into 6 different teams.  They included Brazil, Holland, Canada, Australia, Pakistan and South Africa.

Annabel Hayes was awarded Player of the Tournament for her display of hockey skills and effort in the games.  Well done Annabel.  

The results were as follows:

1st place - Australia

2nd place - Canada

3rd place - Holland

4th place - Brazil

5th place - Pakistan

6th place - South Africa

The afternoon was a fantastic display of all inclusive sport that was both competitive and rewarding to the children.  They quickly adopted the '3 cheers' for the other team at the end of each match and shook hands with their opposition is true sporting spirit.  This afternoon was an introduction to the competitive sport that will be further developed in Year 4.  The cookies were thoroughly enjoyed by all as the results were read out.  Well done to everyone this afternoon.
