Brooke Priory Cross Country - Saturday 8th October 2016

On Saturday 8th October 24 boys and girls from years 2 to 6 attended the annual Brooke Priory Cross Country event.  The event took place at the top of Shorne Hill and involved an interesting course through the nearby fields.  Spirits were high and maximum effort was applied by our keen and enthusiastic cross country runners, many of whom have worked hard training for this event at the weekly Copthill Cross Country club.  Copthill were delighted to achieve 3 medals for finishing in the top 6 runners across the line.  Medals were won by India North (6th) in the Girls U10 event, Reuben Isaac (4th) in the U10 Boys event and Owen James (6th) in the U11 Boys event.  Another 3 runners narrowly missed out on medals but still finished in very commendable top 10 positions and they included Elsie Brownlow, Sammy Harriss and Annabel Hayes.

Full praise should be given to each and every runner who really did give their absolute all in completing the course and showing true perseverance.
