Year 5 and 6 Inter-House Hockey Thurs 8th Dec 2016

The Year 5 and 6 girls maximised their match time by showing super organisation, with a quick turn around of positions and substitutions which gave every girl in year 5 and 6 quality match time in the U11 house hockey matches.

The games were closely fought and the ball was end to end in all of the matches.  Lots of effective teamwork was evident, with some accurate passing choices displayed and thoughtful movement off the ball in order to create the space required to progress the ball quickly towards the goal.  Some powerful shots at the goal resulted in a number of impressive goals being scored. Careful positioning at the post resulted in successful goals and plenty of penalty corner opportunities were awarded.

All of the girls were determined in their fight to win the inter-house hockey tournament and they really gave their all to help their team gain points in their battle to be winners.  Players of the tournament were awarded to each house, with Charlotte Dean (Burghley), Gemma O'Flaherty (Lindsey), Alannah Coupland (Milton) and India North (Casewick) gaining recognition for their playing ability in the tournament.

A well deserved and highly anticipated cookie at the end of the tournament made everyone smile and credit should be given to all the girls for their effort and enthusiasm throughout the afternoon.

Well done girls - an impressive standard of hockey was displayed.  Thank you to all the parents for their support and encouragement for the girls.

The results of the U11 Inter-house hockey were as follows:

1st = Burghley

2nd  = Lindsey

3rd = Casewick

4th = Milton
