U9 & U11 Cross Country at Witham Hall

What a wonderful event to attend, it was excellently hosted and run by Witham and all the children,  parents and staff had a lovely experience.

Our four teams all looked extremely smart arriving in our full tracksuits ready to walk the course led by Mr N Teesdale, and we had a wonderful chorus of supporters.

The U9 girls started proceedings, and putting a few nerves aside the girls smiled as they stood on the start line. Off they went on their lap of the course with Elsie Brownlow leading the team and finishing in a wonderful 19th position. Each and every one of the girls worked extremely hard in their first school cross country competition. Next up were the U9 boys and Otto Stone and Euan Hunter were working hard at the front of the squad, finishing in 22nd and 26th respectively. The other 4 boys were chasing them down and finished very close behind.

It was then the turn of the U11 teams. Both teams have some experienced runners, and the teams ran with drive and determination and fought hard around the course, especially in their sprint finishes! Halle Stone achieved a super 16th place for the first home girl, and Felix Bowling finishing in our top place for the day was 11th for the boys.
I want to express a huge well done to each and every child who took place. It was a windy day and a challenging course and you all did Copthill very proud in your attitude and effort at the event. Well done and thank you!
