U11A&B vs Ratcliffe and Foremark Triangular

U11's Final Game of the Season

Today saw the final matches for the yr6 girls. After over an hour on the coach we faced a triangular between Ratcliffe and Foremark. Ratcliffe are a regular fixture but this was our first outing against Foremark, and they were a very strong and well drilled team. They played the ball confidently and we took a while to pick up our players and pressure their attacking play. Unfortunately we lost 4-0 to a very effective young team. Next came Ratcliffe and we stepped up and brushed ourselves off, picking out two things to focus on. Mark tightly and follow everything up in the D. We had some wonderful chances, and we must have hit the post at least 6 times! Finally Bea Selkirk pushed the ball past the keeper to take a 1-0 win.

Today was the A teams first loss; that makes a wonderful 7 wins from 8 across the season.

The U11B's were coached and umpired by Mr Howitt and he has written the following match report: The girls played Fairfelid in their first match. There was some great defending from Lulu and Isobel. With an excellent shot on goal from Emily D just going wide! They fought so hard to get into the opposition D and make chances. In the second half we did not let a goal in and were by far the stronger team making more chances but could just not find the backboard!!! Unfortunately we lost 2-0.

In the second match against Ratcliffe

We had a strong start with Holly nearly scoring but the Ratcliffe goal keeper made an excellent save. Strong tackles from Hannah T and Annabel kept Ratcliffe out of the D. The last 2 minutes of the game we came so close to scoring, hitting the post then a rebound from Holly went to the keeper. Great play and a strong second half saw a 0-0 draw.
