U9 Girls Hockey at Ratcliffe

Despite the cold conditions the U9 Girls confidently played their matches against Ratcliffe.  They tried hard to hold their positions and they put on a very good display of team effort.  The U9B team were first to play and within the first thirty seconds Soraya had secured the first goal of the afternoon.  Ratcliffe were determined to equalize but were just not able to secure a goal against a determined and solid Copthill team.

In the second match the girls played, they were unfortunate not to equalize, with Lulu hitting the ball into the goal from a strike just outside the 'D'.  The girls continued with focus and there just wasn't enough time to score.  Well done to the U9B team, a solid and pleasing performance from all, with player of the matches awarded to Holly for her super performance.

In the U9A games the first half was not short of Copthill goals, with Lexie slotting home after some great build up play between Flo, Millie and Lucy.  Lucy finished off the scoring in the half following another fantastic through ball from player of the match, Ava.

The second half brought many more chances for Copthill, though good defending from Ratcliffe prevented any more goals.  Some good play from the opposition led to Ratcliffe getting a goal back, but sturdy defence from Olivia and Georgia meant that there was very little trouble throughout.

Congratulations to all the girls' excellent work throughout this very successful season.
