U10A Rugby v Wisbech GS - Wed 12th Sept 2018

The U10 'A' Rugby team performed well in their first game against Wisbech Grammar School, winning 9-7.

There was some good, strong running and the attitude of all players was excellent.  We handled the ball well and passed effectively to give players space and keep moves flowing.  Otto captained the team and was awarded MOM for some strong runs and tackling.  Will was awarded the Iron Man award for the day for the fantastic tackling he performed, knocking over some of the opposition's dangerous runners again and again.  Milo also stood out with his understanding of positional play and the ability to off-load the ball in the tackle.

This was a promising start for the team.  We will need to see an improvement in the number of players committing themselves to the tackle in the next match and an understanding of the need to align quickly and move up on the opposition when defending.

Mr Willson
