Copthill U9 A Rugby v TPS on Wed 14th September 2016
Copthill U9 ‘A’ Rugby Against TPS U9
‘A’ – Won 14-6
The under
nine boys put in a very promising performance against The Peterborough School
on an extremely hot afternoon. The
passing, catching and direct running were all excellent and the boys are
already showing an understanding of the positions they need to take when
forming attacking or defensive lines from the breakdown. Marcus Oliver was man of the match, leading
the way with some ferocious tackling, whilst Sam Chesworth captained the side
well and produced some excellent breaks, looking for support to put the ball
wide to attack the open spaces. Stan
Halden showed some very mazy running skills and the whole team played well.
To improve, we will need to focus on
tackling and following the example of the three or four strong tacklers in the
side to create a defensive line that will stop the ball carrier in first
contact.
This was a great start to the season
and we are looking forward to the next game.
