U11 Netball vs Wisbech

From a very chilly start to the morning, we ended up playing in the glorious sunshine. Wisbech started strong and took an early lead of 2-0 in the first quarter. We weren't playing the netball we could, and got caught a little asleep. We had possession but struggled to convert.
The second quarter saw a great come back for Copthill taking the score to 3-3 at half time. Bea Selkirk made sure her chances counted at GA and we were finally on the score board. We were thinking more about early passes through Gemma O'Flaherty and Ivy Kettlewell, and we started to make each ball entering the D count.
Both teams were then very much in the game, and the 3rd quarter saw quite a bot of contest for the ball, as the girls were looking for every opportunity to turn over the ball. Emily Darrell worked tirelessly to prevent a strong GA getting too many shots on goal. A slow quarter took the game to 4-4.
It was the final quarter where everything came together and we started to play 'our netball'. We took more control of our spacing and worked the ball across the channels, Felicity Branton really stepped up and started to play a nice early ball out of defence which really gave us momentum. Some superb feeds into the D from Jess Dean set up some lovely ball in the D. Halle Stone's shooting was superb and slowly we built a lead. The final score was 7-4 to Copthill, in a very tight and enjoyable end to the match.
Well done girls, the final quarter really saw things slot into place and shows the potential the team really have.
