U10 Girls Netball Festival @ SJS on Wednesday 23rd January 2019

The under 10A’s enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of Netball at Stamford Junior School. The Netball festival provided our first competitive matches of the season and our girls really rose to the occasion. Despite some excellent play and superb defence, the U10A suffered a narrow loss in their first match against SJS A Team. The girls showed great progress in their second and final matches in tightly contested games against TPS A. The girls played with improved spacing and strengthened their passes to finish with a pleasing 2-2 draw. Despite the cold, our girls played extremely well and enjoyed the challenge of playing tough opposition. Special mention to Rhea and Olivia who were named as girls of the festival.

The under 10B’s played three netball matches with determination, despite the slightly chilly conditions, against Stamford Junior School. After a slightly sluggish start, they were unlucky to narrowly lose in their first match. Not to be put off by this, they improved their defending and moved the ball around the court with increased pace to end their second and third matches with draws. Player of the tournament was Emilie who produced some fantastic interceptions throughout the afternoon. Well done girls!
