U9A&B Kwik Cricket v Ratcliffe College - Wednesday 19th June 2019

The U9’s has a very exciting first fixture against Ratcliffe College. The A team opened the batting well to score a number of runs, communicating well with each other and making quick decisions. Ratcliffe bowled each over brilliantly and were very well organised in the field but Copthill continued to bat well scoring two sixes in the last two hits off the innings. The total score was 236 runs to Copthill as the teams changed over. Ratcliffe scored run after run in the first three overs but despite this our Copthill girls showcased their accurate bowling and speedy fielding to achieve 8 wickets between them to win the match 236 - 221. Well done to all that played! It was a lovely friendly fixture with Ratcliffe and both teams showed lovely team spirit and sportsmanship.

The B team too had an excellent and very close match. The Copthill girls started with really strong batting, even hitting an impressive six! Our bowling was nice and accurate and everyone was active in the field- all the girls worked really hard for each other to return the ball to the stumps. Overall they played really well to win the match 242 to Copthill and 241 to Ratcliffe! Well done
