U9 Start to the Netball Season

The U9A Girls all excitedly took to the Netball courts this afternoon and seemed oblivious to the cold and wind!  They started off a little unsure in their first game against Grantham Preparatory School; playing a little too kindly and losing possession of the ball in the competitive situations.  They did however persevere and worked with focus in the second half.  Despite their efforts the final score was a 3-0 loss.

In their second game against St. Hughs School, Copthill found their feet and took on board the advice to 'snatch that ball'.  The girls made some good interceptions and moved with intent to gain possession of the ball.  The game was end to end and very evenly matched.  Marking was tighter and the girls played well as a team.  Lexie Smith secured a super goal to equalise and secure a 1-1 draw.

Players of the matches were awarded to Rhea Patel and Lexie Smith.  Well done girls to all of you.  You worked hard and all made some good passes and tried hard to move into space.  Keep it up.

Mrs Harriss
