U11 A&B vs St Hugh's A

U11 A vs St Hugh's

The U11's started their netball season with a dominant display of netball; winning 7-1 and 6-1. We have only had two lessons prior to this match so the girls have only just started to get back into their netball. Already the girls are trying to execute skills we have spoken about; Gemma O'Flaherty and Jessica Dean both feeding some wonderful high balls into the shooters; Emily Anderson, Bea Selkirk and Halle Stone.
Emily Darrell and Eliana Russo worked so well in defence that we prevented them having many shots on goal at all. Interception rate was high and we were able to start to use the turn over more effectively as we took control of the pace. Then Felicity Branton and Evie Holder were able to try and move the ball across the channels to open up our attack.
Gemma O'Flaherty takes my player of the match this week due to her interceptions and wonderful distribution of the ball. She made it very difficult for her opposite player to make an impact on the game which allowed us to steal a lot of mid court possession.
I am very excited about my first netball season with Copthill, if not a little nervous that the ISA's are at the end of this month! I can feel some intense netball practice coming up to ensure we are best prepared for that challenging tournament.

A strong start showing a lot of potential.
