U11 Rugby v Brooke Priory - Wednesday 9th October 2019

This was the hardest fixture the team have faced so far this season.  There was lots of hard, strong, direct running in a very physical game.  The tackling was ferocious from both sides and the game swung one way then the other.  The Copthill handling was particularly good as we tried to exploit the space on the outside.  At half time, Copthill led by one try.  With the wind advantage in the second half, Brooke made the most of their chances and Copthill ended with the score at 6-7.
Whilst a draw would have reflected how close the teams were in ability, Brooke deserved their win.  Milo captained the side ably and he and Harry both received the Man of the Match award.  Monty received the Iron Man for his relentless tackling and determination to stop Brooke’s big runners.  Every member of the team can be pleased with their contribution to an exciting, close game with a special mention to Rory, who has shown great strength and skill since joining us and Jack, who in his first game for the ‘A’ team this season, impressed and scored a try.
