U11D vs SJS

The scoreline did not reflect the effort shown by the girls. They showed an improvement from the week before regarding talking to each other and excellent team spirit.
It was a cold afternoon and we decided to play 8 minute quarters. By the end of Q1 we were  6-0 down. This was in large part due to Stamford's strong shooters.
Both teams changed around and for the next quarter Stamford only managed to get 2 more in. Our girls were working hard and there was some excellent defensive play from Isobel and Ellie.
This solid defensive play helped us keep Stamford to only another 2 goals in Q3,
We went into the last quarter and conceded one more goal, which was very positive.
The girls kept their team spirit and did some good passing. The shooting conditions were windy, but Rosie and Ada came close to adding to our scoreline.
Going forward the girls need to think about space, strong passing and a little bit closer marking.
I must praise them for never giving up and trying their hardest.
