U9 Kwik Cricket Squad v Stamford JS (a) Thursday 9th June 2016
Copthill took an U9 squad of players to Stamford JS on Thursday 9th June and played two matches.
Mr Smith took his team onto the pitch and started the match fielding. They started brilliantly taking 2 wickets in the first 2 overs! However with a few misfields from the Copthill boys, allowing the ball to trickle over the boundary for 4s proved to be costly!
Copthill started their batting innings well with the first 2 pairs, both from year 3, scoring a good number of runs to set Copthill well on there way to reaching the target of 284. However the remaining batsmen just couldn't get the runs needed to win the match, falling short by 17 runs.
All the boys put in great effort and determination and man of the match for this game goes to Eshan Shah!
The team with Mr Willson also ended up losing but by a few more runs!
