Year 5 and 6 Inter House Rounders - Wed 22nd June 2016
The recent Year 5 and 6 Inter House Rounders competition was a true display of the improvement the Year 5 and 6 girls have made in their Rounders this term. All the girls stepped up to the challenge and played with positivity and energy, showing support and encouragement to those younger or less confident and really pulling together and giving it a super team effort.
The progress made has been lovely to see this term. At the beginning of the term the girls would admit they struggled to get players out at posts with consistency. This is just one element of their game play that has significantly improved and relies on quick decision making, accurate throwing as well as safe and secure catching. It was fabulous to see the girls selecting to field the ball from back stop to first post to get batting players out quickly, or making the decision to field the ball to second post to limit the batters scoring opportunities. The batting has also improved and the placement of hits, power and consistency amongst the girls is now looking good. Girls, you should all feel very proud of your efforts in the Inter House matches.
The results of the competition saw a very close result between Milton and Burghley, with Milton achieving first place in the event as a result of a higher number of total rounders scored.
1st = Milton
2nd = Burghley
3rd = Lindsay
4th = Casewick
Well done and thank you to all the parents who came to support the girls.
