U11 Girls v Ayscoughfee

The Under 11 Girls played Ayscoughfee on Wednesday 27th January.

The opposition dominated the first quarter but after a quick switch around the Copthill girls came back out fighting. The following three quarters of the game saw the ball moving quickly from end to end, with some lovely intercepting and quick thinking from all of the players. There was some fantastic movement around the attacking D and some great shooting in windy conditions! The girls were unlucky to end up losing by a single last minute goal, the final score being 5-6 in Ayscoughfee's favour.

The girls should be incredibly proud of themselves - we had a slight height disadvantage and that, coupled with some injuries, meant that the girls were not always playing in the positions that they are more comfortable in. They did everything that was asked of them in terms of marking and getting in front of their opponent to receive the pass and the last three quarters were played with a fierce determination that I look forward to seeing in future matches.

Captain was Rosie Sly and Player of The Match was Alice Brownlow.

Well done all of you.
