Year 5&6 House Football Matches - Thursday 10th March 2016

The boys competed for the eagerly anticipated house football matches in glorious sunshine. All the matches were played in tremendous spirit and credit must go to all the boys who took part.

Milton, with a huge squad, looked the favourites from the very beginning as they could rotate there players more often got off to a fantastic start defeating a resilient but lacking in numbers Casewick team.

Milton also won their second match which meant they had pretty much, apart from mathematically, won the tournament with a match to spare. However, complacency set in slightly and they ended up losing 1-0 to a very hard working Burghley team with a well taken goal from Freddie Finlan. With this result in mind, Lindsey needed to win by a huge margin which did not happen.

Therefore the final standings were:

1st - Milton
2nd equal - Burghley & Lindsey
3rd - Casewick

Very well done to all the boys who took part in the matches and they were a credit to the school in terms of their commitment, endeavour and attitude throughout the afternoon. Thank you to Mr Willson for refereeing and for Mr Thomas doing the administrative work!

Mr Smith
