U11 Inter-house Rounders 2017

The Year 5 and 6 girls were unphased by the extreme heat that they faced for their Inter-House Rounders matches.  The house captains were well organised and had arranged the positions for each match effectively.  With three rounds of matches played the girls paced themselves well and demonstrated a good understanding of the rules.

In Milton, Halle Stone was awarded player of the tournament for her accurate overarm throwing and work as a deep fielder, throwing the ball to the correct post to limit scoring chances for the opposition.  In Burghley Felicity Branton achieved player of the tournament for her house for her success when batting.  Kaiya Shah was player of the matches for Lindsey for her effort and consistency throughout the games as well as a super catch of a high ball.  Molly Salter was awarded player of the tournament for her excellent rounders playing throughout the afternoon and her success when batting.

The results of the afternoon saw Burghley finishing triumphant and winning overall, Casewick achieved second position, Lindsey third and Milton (at a slight disadvantage with only 6 players to bat) in fourth position overall.  Milton should be commended on their perseverance, effort and humour throughout the afternoon.

Well done girls.

Mrs Harriss
