U11 Rounders v Castor - Wed 21st June 2017
The weather was more than a little warm as the girls took to the Rounders pitch this afternoon for their match against Castor School. They adhered to the rules beautifully and demonstrated a very good understanding of the rules as they battled hard to field the ball accurately and reduce scoring opportunities for Castor. Felicity and Maddy confidently caught high balls and successfully got players from the opposition out with their safe and secure hands. The team fielded well and should be pleased with their performance.
Castor had a number of good batters and this really challenged Copthill girls to think quickly and field with good decision making to prevent Castor notching up the rounders. At the end of the first innings Castor and Copthill has both scored 7 rounders each. With everything to play for both teams worked hard and again the score at the end of the match was 14 rounders each.
A great game played with a lovely sporting attitude. Star player chosen by Castor School was Felicity Branton. Player of the match was Stella Nicholas and Captain of the team today was Maddy Barratt.
