U11 A Hardball and U11 B Incrediball v The Peterborough School on Wednesday 4th May 2016
U11 A Hardball
The U11 A Cricket team travelled to Orton Park CC on Wednesday 4th May and the force was certainly with them!! They were put into bat by the hosts and racked up a scored of 184 for 4 wickets. Gabriel Rudman & Connor Finlan made a total of 31 for 1 wicket between them. The boys played TPS the week before in a Kwik Cricket fixture, therefore they knew where the strengths and weaknesses were, however this was hardball so a totally different ballgame!
Copthill started the bowling a little lethargically and no balls and wides were creeping into there game. However, they soon woke up and started bowling with accuracy and pace. Frankie Battle bowled superbly well and took a total of 5 wickets, 3 coming in one over!
It was a fantastic afternoon in glorious sunshine - about time I hear you say - and enjoyment was had by all.
Well done to all the boys who took part and man of the match this week has to be awarded to Frankie Battle for his bowling and he also scored a very respectable 23 between him and his partner.

U11 B Incrediball
A strong Under 11B cricket team traveled to Orton Park Cricket Club to take on the Peterborough School. The sun was shining and conditions were ideal for a fast game of Incredi-ball. Copthill won with a staggering 111 runs from 120 balls with a strong defense holding TPS at 56 runs in the second innings. Both teams took 6 wickets and showed great improvement throughout the afternoon. Tom Mills and Max Kettlewell bowled with precision and Vir Makwana hit several fours in a row. A great team performance and a lovely afternoon was had by all.
