U11C Rounders v Laxton Wed 27th April 2016

On Wednesday 27th April The U11c's travelled to play rounders against Laxton School. The girls were very focused and listened to their team chat prior to the game. The captain Zoe Richardson, won the toss and wisely made the decision for Laxton to bat first. This gave our team the advantage of knowing the number of rounders that they would need to score to win first innings. This paid off, with a great number of half rounders being scored. The girls were decisive and took risks to sprint to that second post. There were some powerful hits too, with six complete rounders scored over the two innings. 

The first Innings: Copthill 6.5 rounders, Laxton 2.5

The second Innings: Copthill 6.5 rounders, Laxton 2

Total score: Copthill 13 rounders, Laxton 4.5 rounders

Grace Richardson's bowling was consistently accurate, with very few "no balls" given away. The girls worked very well as a team and fielded the ball well.
