U9 Boys Cricket Tournament – Wednesday 27^th April

Copthill performed really well in this tournament.  In the first match against TPS we batted and bowled effectively, managing to win 253-243.  The game could have gone either way and taking a wicket with the last ball clinched victory for us.

In the second game, Grantham kept in the game as their weaker bowlers bowled under-arm, meaning they were far more accurate, whilst as all our players bowled over-arm, we gave away a number of no balls and wides.  The final result was a draw at 240 each.

Our last game was rained off after Laxton’s innings.  Our accurate bowling had pinned them back to a modest total and there was every chance we could have gone on to win if the heavens had not opened.

Copthill made a promising start to the cricket season and team spirit and attitude were excellent.
