U11 A Hockey v Stamford School (a) 25-01-17

We played away at Stamford School on Wednesday 25th January on a very cold afternoon.

Stamford are a very solid outfit and are always a strong, well-organised side. However Copthill started brightly and were only 1-0 down at half time.

They drew level in the second half with a well deserved goal from Sam Harriss. The boys continued to work well together but within the final 15 minutes of the match Copthill unfortunately let in 5 more goals! This was a mix of Stamford raising their game and Copthill players not working hard enough individually and for the team as a whole. Therefore the final score was 6-1 to Stamford.

The team was captained by Will L-V and player of the match was Charlie P.

We hope for better success when they play Brooke Priory next week.

Well done to all the boys who took part on a freezing cold afternoon.

Mr Smith
