U9A football v Stamford on Thursday 26th January 2017

Copthill U9A hokcey team first match of the season against Stamford Junior School.

Copthill started really strong, with scoring in the first minute by Marcus Oliver, captain.  In this match there was constant great passing, excellent skills and amazing goals.

Colin Earle, Aran and Ralph Berry were in defence and created a solid wall that Stamford couldn’t get through.  With  Rory Driver, James Hayes, Samuel Chesworth distributing the ball well and were all over the opposition.

When attacking Stan Halden and Marcus Oliver having a number of chances to strike for goal. By half time with creative passing and moving in the first half Copthill where 3-0 up. 

The Second half began with Copthill scoring again making it 4-0, Stamford tried to break down the defence with a couple of chances but Copthill held strong keeping a clean sheet.  End of the match was 6-0 to Copthill, fantastic first ever game for this U9A team.

Man of the match was difficult to choose with all boys playing well together, but for determination throughout the match I award James Hayes.
