U11A Cricket v Stamford JS - Wednesday 16th May 2018
Copthill suffered the first defeat of the term when they visited Stamford JS on Wednesday.
Stamford won the toss and put Copthill into bat first, believing they could keep our run rate low. That they did very well with a culmination of Copthill players having an off day and some superb bowling from Stamford! Copthill ended with a score of 242.
Stamford came into bat knowing what they had to chase and they reached that total in 6 overs!! They scored a total of 356 to win the match.
Man of the match for Copthill was awarded to Ruben Isaac for his alertness in the field and accurate throwing.
Well done to the boys for taking part and keeping their heads held high, even though they knew they had lost with over half the innings remaining.
