U11A Rounders vs Brooke Priory

The first rounders fixture of the season for the U11A's, and it was a brilliantly close game. Eliana won the toss and chose to bat first. We played timed innings of 10 minutes, so the girls knew to start cautiously but as the time was drawing to a close, they could warrant risking it to get those points!

Felicity Branton had some wonderful hits in the first innings and picked up 2 and a half rounders. In our first fielding rotation both Jess Dean and Gemma O'Flaherty each caught a girl out. After the first innings it was Copthill 6 1/2, Brooke Priory 7 1/2.

All to play for in the second innings and this time Charlotte Gee, Emily Anderson and Gemma O'Flaherty all picked up two full rounders. With some solid half rounders from the full team we collated a score of 8 1/2 giving us a cumulative score of 15.

It was over to Brooke's batting and how well we could field their big hitters. We started strong with an early catch from Bea Selkirk but in the last few minutes as Brooke started to take risks in their running it flustered our fielding and they finished with 9 rounders.

Overall a small loss of 15 to 16 1/2, but a really great first game for the girls. Giving them lots of confidence in their batting and a focus of fielding for improvement.
