U9 Hockey Festival

The U9 girls had their first Hockey outing on a wonderfully sunny October afternoon at Stamford Junior School. The year group were put into two mixed ability teams and each played four different matches. The games were 8 minutes long so a lovely chance to develop across the afternoon. As always there was some yummy cake to enjoy which is highlight for many.

The girls really seemed to enjoy themselves and all the girls played in all four matches. A number of girls demonstrated their dribbling skills we have been practising in lessons, with some using their push hits and others using their defensive skills. As a first Hockey match for the girls, they should be really proud of what they achieved and it is a great start for them to work on and move forwards.

Annabel Harmer really stood out in Mrs Alcoran's team, her work rate was superb and she was keen to get back and defend as well as chasing the ball up the pitch. Kitty-Mae was the choice for Mrs Underwood's team and both of the girls have been awarded Player of the Festival.
