U10A Rounders v Maidwell

Ana Isaac was Captain of the U10 Girls Rounders team today in their match against Maidwell.  Copthill looked strong from the start as they played a very successful last game of the season.  The girls have played well all term and today was no exception.  They achieved a number of impressive hits which quickly helped to increase their score and really put Maidwell under pressure.  Copthill fielded the ball tightly and the accurate throws and safe catches ensured that Maidwell were unable to score the rounders they needed.  As Backstop, Daisy Selkirk took many opportunities to catch a missed ball and she delivered it with speed and accuracy without hesitation to Maddie Hunt on first base.  This was effective in today's game in outwitting Maidwell and stumping the opposition out at first base.  Impressive play, well done girls.  Aggs ensured her bowling was consistent and she delivered the ball smoothly as bowler.  Alice Brownlow worked hard as a deep fielder and she moved effortlessly to field the ball and support other team players when fielding.  The girls had taken an impressive lead after the first innings and went on to achieve a convincing 17-8 victory.

Player of. The match was awarded to Daisy Selkirk for her successful batting and consistent fielding.

A great end to the season - well done.

Mrs Harriss
