U11 Tennis v Ratcliffe College

On June 4th Copthill played their annual friendly tennis match against Radcliffe College.
It was a pleasure to watch all of the pupils play to the best of their ability, in what for many of the children, was their first Inter schools tennis match.

Tennis now form
s part of the Physical Education curriculum at Copthill
and it is taught as a mixed subject.  W
e were proud that everyone acquitted themselves admirably.

The natural ability of the boys shone through.  Although the Radcliffe boys prevailed, being fortunate enough to include a county player in their team, it was through no lack of talent or effort on our pupils’ behalf that we were defeated.  The girls, also benefiting from extra-curricular coaching, played with great enthusiasm and succeeded in defeating Radcliffe in one of their games.

As always, we would like to thank the pupils for participating with good spirit and the parents who attended for their ongoing support.
