Brooke Priory Cross Country Event

Well done to all the competitors that showed commitment in attending the Brooke Priory Cross Country event this weekend.  The weather was favourable and the course challenging but the children from Copthill gave their all as they tackled the stiles and fields around the cross country course.

The children really did well and Copthill were ahead in many of the races.  Special congratulations to the U8 boys who were successful in gaining first place as a team.  The first three runners across the line contributed to the point score and Olli Filo, Marcus Oliver and Logan Todd all helped secure the winning trophy that was awarded to the boys for their super running.

An impressive collection of individual medals were also awarded to the Copthill children for finishing within the first six runners in each race.

Reuben Isaac ran a great race and finished in an impressive first place in the U9 boys event.  Not to be out done, Ana Isaac also achieved a super result finishing in 3rd place in the U11 girls event.  Reuben received a trophy and Ana a medal for their great achievements.

Other great results and medal winners of the day were Georgia Plant finishing in a fantastic 3rd position in the U8 girls event, Olli Filo and Marcus Oliver finishing in 3rd and 4th place respectively in the U8 boys event.  In the U11girls event Ana Isaac achieved 3rd place and Alice Brownlow followed quickly in an impressive 4th position and Gabriel Rudman achieved a very creditable 4th position in the U11 boys event.  Charlie Plant only narrowly missed out on a medal in the U10 boys event finishing in a very respectable 7th position.

The U11 girls were also successful in securing 2nd place as a team in their race.  Well done to Ana Isaac, Alice Brownlow and Amy Rule for their contribution to this achievement.

Well done to everyone.

Mrs Harriss
