U11 Squad Girls Hockey v The Peterborough School

The girls played a super game of hockey this afternoon in their match against The Peterborough School.  The ball was passed and dribbled all over the pitch and the girls were energetic in their movements.  Defence maintained a strong front and they made it very difficult for The Peterborough School to score.  Copthill were quick to take their long corners and they looked both confident and thoughtful in their choice of where to pass.  The midfield players and forwards were efficient and made good choices moving into the goal circle.  Izzy York-Forward scored the first two goals in close succession, Izzy Durrands was quick to follow with another goal and Zoe Richardson also secured another goal all within the first half.

The girls all experienced a change in playing positions and they were quick to adapt to the different roles.  It was lovely to see the girls playing such a versatile game and experiencing the different positions.  Lea Chauhan scored the next two goals and then Brooke Fleming secured the seventh goal and Evie Joyce ensured her shot was on target to make it eight goals for Copthill.

The final score was a 8-2 win for Copthill.

Player of the match was awarded to Lea Chauhan and Captain was Izzy York-Forward.

Very well done girls.

Mrs Harriss
