The U11A team travelled to away to Brooke Priory yesterday for their match.  Black clouds were looming in the sky as they disembarked from the coach and there was a good downpour as we quickly found somewhere to shelter!

Captain of the team was Daisy Selkirk.  We unfortunately didn't win first centre pass but this didn't stop the girls when the game started.  The ball was passed effectively around the pitch and Ana Isaac, who was awarded player of the match, only narrowly missed with two excellent shots at goal.  With Izzy York-Forward feeling unwell we found ourselves in a position without a goalkeeper.  The other team kindly matched our position but it took our girls a few moments to adapt to the new situation.  Brooke Priory were quick to take advantage and in close succession Brooke Priory had secured four goals!  The girls only looked disheartened for a few minutes before they really got their act together with Alice Brownlow dribbling into the goal circle and scoring the first goal for COPTHILL.  With spirits lifted a second goal found its way into the goal immediately by Rosie Sly and the girls looked strong and organised in their formation.  If only there was more time COPTHILL could have pulled back further but on this occasion the score was a very creditable 4-2 to Brooke in unfamiliar playing conditions.  Well done girls. A good strong team performance from all.
