U11 v Maidwell Hall (A)

Copthill Uner 11 A team played against a very well organised Maidwell Hall team on Wednesday 25th March.  Copthill started the match strongly and were by far the more dominant team in the opening periods.  They flew into an early two goal lead with super team goals that were finished by Tom Chesworth.  Maidwell managed to pull one back, with a freak cross that looped over Tom Cox and into the goal.  Half time ended 2-1 to Copthill.  Copthill scored an early goal in the second half, with Tom Chesworth completing his hat-trick from another excellent team move.  Will Kong finished the scoring and the match ended 4-1 to Copthill.  Superb displays through out the team, in particular mentions have to go to Jonny Le Voi who captained the team well and man of the match performances to Tom Chesworth and Ciaran Dolby.  Well done to all the boys and good luck in the ISA 5 a -side tournament tomorrow.

The U11 C team coached by Mr Forward also played against Maidwell in a closely fought battle.  Copthill were two goals down at half time and only after a motivational team talk from Mr Forward during half time, did Copthill actually up their game and start to play some good football.  Henry Peasgood did a good job at captaining the side and motivated his players well in the second half.  A brace from man of the match Edward Norman saw Copthill come back to draw 2-2 at the final whistle.  Mr Forward would like to thank all the boys fro their determination and effort shown, particularly in the second half.
