SUCCESS AT THE ISA GYMNASTICS COMPETITION- 12TH NOV 2016

Two gymnastics teams competed at the National ISGA two piece competition on the 12th of November in Gerrards Cross.  There were over 32 schools competing over the two day event and Copthill entered an U9 Challenge team consisting of Olivia Teesdale, Florence Keeble, Florence Cavacuiti, Lucy Richardson and Annabel Hayes.  We also entered an U10 team consisting of Jessica Dean, Gemma O’Flaherty, Felicity Branton and Ivy Kettlewell.

The U9’s competed in the second round of the day and demonstrated a fantastic set floor routine and a voluntary vault.  The girls handled their nerves incredibly well and performed to the very best of their abilities.

The U10’s competed slightly later in the day and considering they were a small team they showed confidence in their routines and we witnessed some of the best vaulting they have done!

I was incredibly proud of all the girls and was so impressed with their determination, confidence and team work.  The awards ceremony was held at the end of the day where the top 6 individual girls were awarded medals from each category as well as the top 6 teams.  The U9 challenge team were thrilled to discover they had placed 5th in the teams and therefore received medals! Annabel Hayes also performed extremely well individually and placed 4th out of 55 girls.  In the U10 section Ivy Kettlewell had a fantastic competition to finish in 5th place individually in a very strong field and out of 59 girls.
Well done girls!!
