U11D Girls Hockey v Stamford Junior School

Wow, what a performance from the U11D Girls Hockey team who played a very confident match against Stamford Junior School this week.  The Copthill team were a mixture of Year 4 and Year 5 girls playing against a full side of Year 6 Stamford girls.  This did not phase our girls in any way and within minutes of the whistle blowing to commence play, Copthill looked strong and took an early lead.

There were some fantastic individual runs up the pitch, advancing well into the 'D' and battling hard to get the ball into the goal.  Some fantastic teamwork between the girls both in attack and defense enabled Copthill to maintain the lead and keep Stamford from scoring.  When Hannah was put to the test in goal, she kept her cool and made some pleasing clears to ensure Stamford did not get a second chance.

Player of the match was awarded to Elsie Brownlow for her efforts throughout the game.  Well done to the whole team on an impressive 5-0 win.
