U11 Girls Tennis Tournament at SJS - Saturday 23rd June 2018

6 girls from Year 6 took part in the annual tennis tournament held at Stamford Junior School on Saturday in what was an excellent morning of tennis.

The girls were paired in rank order and played against their respective pairings from other schools. There was some super tennis being displayed and I was very impressed how well Copthill played and most importantly, improved, embraced and enjoyed themselves as the tournament progressed.

Copthill came away with 2 out of the 4 prizes with Bea Selkirk and Felicity Branton gaining the runners-up medals for the most games won throughout the whole competition out of all the pairs, narrowly missing out on first place by 2 games!

Jess Dean and Ivy Kettlewell also picked up the teddy bear prize which is awarded for the pair who embraced the competition portraying excellent attitude and win, lose or draw, it did not matter as long as they enjoyed the competition and this was exactly what these 2 girls displayed.

Well done to all the girls who took part in their last ever sports fixture at Copthill.

Mr Smith
