U11B Cricket vs Witham

The U 11 'B' team fielded first against Witham on Wednesday.  We bowled well and looked very sharp in the field.  Taking three wickets, Copthill restricted Witham to 114 from 20 overs.  Stan H was the pick of the fielders and Will F bowled three tight and straight overs.

After tea Copthill went in to bat.  Witham were not quick but they were accurate and the Copthill batsman found it hard to connect with the ball.  Losing five wickets bowled and two from run outs, Witham kept us pegged back and with a very long boundary on their senior pitch making scoring a challenge, we ended up scoring 51 from our 20 overs.

The attitude and sportsmanship of the Copthill team was excellent and the boys can be pleased with their bowling and fielding.  We will need to work on shot play when batting before our next game.
