Year 4 Boys take part in their final rugby match of the season
The Year 4 Boys travelled to Ratcliffe for their final rugby match of the season on Wednesday 14th November.
Copthill U9 B v Ratcliffe U9 B
Copthill U9B started strong by Issac Dales scoring the first try and soon after Joshi Harriss scored the next try for Copthill.
After some strong tackling by Copthill, Ratcliffe soon made it 2-2. Hugo Barnes and Ben Alliston both scored a try making it 4-2. Ratcliffe then made it 4-4 at half time.
Copthill came back strong and did not let Ratcliffe through their defensive line. Copthill got the ball back and made the score 6-4. Ratcliffe replied with some good passing and made the score 6-7. From good running and decisions Copthill got their last try making it 7-7 with the final whistle going seconds after.
Player of the match was Adam Bell and captains were Hugo Barnes and Joshi Harriss.
Well done boys.

Copthill U9 A v Ratcliffe A
Copthill U9 A team played their final match of the season away to Ratcliffe on Wednesday 14th November.
The boys started fantastically well scoring 2 early try’s, however Ratcliffe rallied well and the scores were level after the first 10 minutes.
Copthill managed to edge the 2nd 10 minutes and were leading 6-5 going into the final 10 minutes of the game.
Ratcliffe however came flying out of the traps in the final 10 minutes and coupled with Copthill’s lack of concentration and being asleep, they scored 3 try’s in 3 minutes!! This proved a pivotal part of the match as the final score was 10-8 to Ratcliffe.
All the boys tried hard apart from being asleep at the start of the final 15 minutes. Iron Man is awarded Dexter Emmerson who was also captain and man of the match was given to Charles Bomford.
Well done to all the boys who have shown great determination and energy throughout the term and all the boys are now concentrating on the house matches which are coming up in a few weeks time.
