U10 Girls Hockey Tournament at Leicester Grammar School

The U10 Girls Hockey Team had a super enjoyable afternoon of hockey.  They battled hard and maintained their enthusiasm throughout, staying both motivated and focussed in their approach.

In their first match against Ratcliffe they held their own and finished with a 0-0 draw.  Next up were LGJS and with a change of formation and repositioning the girls found their feet against a strong LGJS who did not give up on the attacking front.  Copthill defenders were put under pressure and did well to maintain a 0-0 result.  Against Fairfield, Copthill worked hard but were unfortunate to finish 2-0 down when the final whistle blew.  With no break at all Copthill quickly moved to their next match against SJS.  They worked hard and moved the ball about but just couldn't quite get the ball in the goal.  Despite a number of great saves by Nicole Copthill were just not able to equalise and finished with a 2-0 loss.  The final match of the day was against a fine tuned Witham.  Despite the girls' best efforts they just couldn't make the break into the attacking half and suffered an unfortunate loss.

Player of the tournament was awarded to Flo Cavacuiti for her continued perseverance.

The girls should be praised for their excellent team effort and sporting attitude throughout the afternoon.  Very well done girls.
