U9 Rounders v Stamford Junior School

The girls arrived at The Stamford Junior School on a remarkably sunny and dry day for a training/coaching Rounders game. The girls listened well and learned a great deal from the experience I hope. The match was exceptionally close with just half a rounder in the final score.

The girls learned about backward hitting rules, overtaking and the concept of being out, which is never easy at this age (or any age really!).  Despite us playing the second innings with a player down, we held our own with the other side’s batting, which was stronger in the second half too.

The first innings: 4.5 rounders to Copthill, 4 rounders to Stamford Junior School
The second innings: 5 rounders to Copthill, 6 rounders to Stamford Junior School
Overall score: 9.5r Copthill, 10r Stamford.

Captain: Emily Darrell
P-O-T-M: Emily Darell for great hitting and decision making and Charlotte Gee for improved concentration and excellent hitting.

Well done to all the girls who partook in this valuable training game.

Mrs Klimes
