U11 5 a-side Football ISA Tournament
Copthill took a squad of footballers to Suffolk on Tuesday 2nd February to take part in the regional ISA 5 a-side tournament.
It was far better weather than last year which was a total washout, albeit cold and windy this year. Copthill started with a 1-0 defeat against a well organised side who have a good record in this competition. They then went on to win their next two matches by the odd goal, but put in really good performances. They then played two other teams who were better than the previous two and unfortunately went down 1-0 in both matches to see Copthill knocked out in the group stages as it was only the top 2 teams that progressed.
It was unfortunate for the boys as they did play very well and their efforts were faultless. I think complacency set in a little after the 2 wins, rather than confidence and belief.
It was a really good day out and the boys should be proud of their efforts. Well done to all of you.
