U8 Netball v TPS
On Wednesday 3rd Feb, Mrs Westwood and I boarded the mini bus with a very excited group of Year Three girls. As we got closer to Peterborough a little nervousness set in, but after a couple of minutes of warming up the girls were ready to go! Captain Annabel Hayes won the toss and opted for the first centre pass. The game started quickly and the girls were a little hesitant during the first quarter, however the second quarter saw a huge improvement in the number of passes linked and the ball found its way quickly down to the shooters (Isobel Youll and Hannah Teesdale). The third quarter again saw the girls playing with increased confidence, with Emily Darrell, Clara Wilson, Georgia Plant and Violet Griffiths-Barrasso demonstrating some fantastic defending. The workrate of Annabel Hayes and Libby Bird in the centre of the court was amazing and left us feeling exhausted just watching them!
The final score was a 3-3 draw which was a fitting result in a close game. The girls played with incredible enthusiasm, almost as much as that shown by our supporters!
Clara Wilson was player of the match for her work as WD.
Thank you to Mrs Westwood and also to the parents for their support. It was lovely to have so many of you there and to hear such positive comments during and after the match.
